History

MVP Laboratories was founded by Lysle Wilkins, DVM; Mary Lou Chapek, MT (ASCP) and F.W. Kullenberg, DVM. The genesis of the company was founded upon addressing veterinarian’s unmet diagnostic and vaccine needs.

Combining their 87+ years of experience, MVP was launched in 1981 as a federally licensed laboratory (#301).The first endeavor was the development of an effective canine parvovirus vaccine. During the emergency of the parvovirus epidemic, both veterinarians and pet owners benefited immensely from the availability of a licensed and intrastate parvovirus vaccine.

Headquartered in the heart of the United States, MVP pursued to solve other significant diseases issues, including Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) pleuropneumoniae, Streptococcus suis for swine and Mycoplasma bovis, Clostridium perfringens Type A in cattle. Additionally, MVP’s R&D efforts have served the animal industry well through the development of many bovine and swine herd-specific vaccines, including these key bacterial pathogens:
BovineSwine
Mycoplasma bovis Moraxella bovis   Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae Salmonella sp.
Mannheimia haemolytica Clostridium perfringens, Type A   Haemophilus parasuis Streptococcus suis
Pasteurella multocida Escherichia coli   Clostridium difficile Pasteurella multocida
Haemophilus somnus Arcanobacterium pyogenes   Actinobaccillus pleuropneumoniae Escherichia coli
Salmonella sp. Clostridium difficile   Clostridium perfringens Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae

MVP Laboratories firmly believes that veterinarians are critical to providing sound advice to livestock producers and pet owners through proper diagnosis and management. Additionally, MVP works closely with state and national diagnostic laboratories and USDA to insure quality assurance and adherence to regulations. Vaccines and dietary supplements are a critical component of these management tools; MVP products are available through practicing veterinarians.
